Dominated by a long stretch of white sandy beach, Flic en Flac is a seaside holiday village on the west coast of Mauritius. Its name comes from an old Dutch phrase that translates as “free and flat land”, with its surrounding landscape notable for its wildlife-filled marshes and lagoons.
Spend a day relaxing on the shoreline at Flic en Flac beach, where you can also swim, kayak or snorkel at nearby coral reefs. There are some excellent dive sites just a few minutes away by boat, with local schools offering certification in both scuba diving and freediving.
If you’re travelling with kids, don’t miss a visit to Casela Nature Parks, which is home to rides, big-game animals and native bird species. Come face-to-face with lions at the Predator Kingdom, play mini-golf in the Pangia Kids Park or brave the Canyon Swing and Deep Valley Fly Over of Thrill Mountain.
