Filandia is in the heart of the Colombian Coffee Triangle. Whether you prefer strong espressos or milky lattes, it’s easy to find world-class coffee in Filandia. Locals enjoy their coffee “tinto” style served in small cups without cream or sugar. Coffee tours take you to local farms and offer a closer look at the bean-to-cup process.
Whitewashed houses with brightly painted doors, window shutters and balconies line the streets of Filandia. The town will have you reaching for your camera around every corner. All roads lead to the bustling main square. Iglesia Maria Inmaculada watches over the square and welcomes you with a picturesque white-and-blue façade.
Filandia is a gateway to the picturesque Cocora Valley. Hiking trails wind through the valley and take you past towering palm trees, some more than 60 metres tall. Hike to tumbling waterfalls like Doble Cascadas or rent a bike and explore the valley on two wheels.
Climb Mirador Colina Illuminada and enjoy 360-degree views over Filandia and the surrounding countryside. The tower is perched on stilts and houses an engaging local history museum where you can learn about Colombian culture and traditions.

Getting around Filandia
Filandia is compact and easy to get around on foot. The town is in the department of Quindio, a 40-minute drive from Salento and one hour from Pereira. Jeep taxis are a good way to visit nearby sights and attractions, while motorbike taxis can be a fast way to get from A to B in the town centre. El Dorado International Airport in Bogota is a 7.5-hour drive away.
