Developed on the site of an open-cast coal mine, the Ffos Las Racecourse is a major equestrian and horse racing venue in Wales. It’s set amidst 242 hectares of picturesque Carmarthenshire countryside and is one of the newest racecourses in the United Kingdom.
Feel the thunder of hooves during one of the regular horse racing meets from the Jonathan Davies Grand Stand, which is named after a Welsh rugby legend who grew up in the local village. It boasts uninterrupted views of the Ffos Las Racecourse, which is renowned for its state-of-the-art track rivaling any racing surface in the United Kingdom.
The venue also features conservation areas and scenic lakes to explore, together with a dedicated solar farm. Wander through the Diamond Jubilee tree plantation or stroll along one of the bridleways through the surrounding countryside.
Getting there
The Ffos Las Racecourse is around 40 minutes’ drive from Swansea, while Cardiff Airport is just over one hour’s drive away. There are shuttle bus services to the course on race days from Llanelli Railway Station and there is plenty of on-site parking.
