Framed by handsome colonial buildings, Parque Principal is the beating heart of Caicedonia. Relax on a park bench and watch buskers entertain passersby. The central square moonlights as an open-air venue for festivals, markets and community events. Food stalls pop up at dusk and serve Colombian specialties like arepas and tamales.
Explore forest-covered trails in Chorro De Las Brisas, a nature reserve just outside Caicedonia. The most popular trail leads to a cascading waterfall. Feel the mist on your face and dip your feet into the natural pool at the foot of the falls. The lush forest is home to dozens of colourful bird species, including golden tanagers and orange-bellied euphonias. Scenic lookouts called “miradors" dot the countryside and command sweeping views over the surrounding mountains, valleys and coffee plantations.
