Things to do in Bundoran
Visit one of the surf schools that line Bundoran’s beach to get a private or group lesson and rent gear for a day out on the water. Soak up the sunshine at this award-winning beach that faces Donegal Bay and the Atlantic or admire the view from one of the waterside cafes and restaurants.
Admire the splendid views of Donegal Bay while you play golf at Bundoran Golf Club, an 18-hole course perched on the clifftop. Designed by Harry Vardon, it served as an early training ground for Christy O’Connor and offers a challenging par-70 course.
Travelling with the kids? Ride the rollercoasters at Bundoran Adventure Park, where a carnival-like atmosphere and fairground attractions offer all-day fun. If you want to beat the heat, head to Waterworld to discover a range of water slides, a pirate ship and a toddler pool.
Take a 30-minute drive to the beautiful Glencar Waterfall, made famous by W.B. Yeats in his poem, “The Stolen Child”. Nestled amongst the Glencar Lough, it’s a peaceful area to spot local wildlife, enjoy a picnic or take a scenic walk along the trails.
Getting around Bundoran
The compact streets of Bundoran’s city centre are best explored on foot, while a car is the most convenient way to travel further afield. George Best Belfast City Airport is 2.5 hours’ drive away and Dublin International Airport is a three-hour journey by car.
