About Baldivis

Featuring modern housing estates interspersed with semi-rural blocks, Baldivis is a popular residential area to the south of Perth. Its close proximity to Perth makes it a convenient commuter base, with leafy public parks and newly-built shopping centres.

Things to do in Baldivis

Baldivis was settled by British immigrants who came as part of the 1920s Group Settlement Scheme and many of its street names originate from those who made their home here. While it remained a largely agricultural area up until the 1990s, rapid urban development has seen schools and shops flourish, together with attractive recreational spaces.

The main commercial hub is at the Baldivis Town Centre where a number of supermarkets and department stores are located. Offering a variety of choices, you can also grab a meal at one of the gourmet cafes or fast food restaurants also clustered here.

Lake Cooloongup and Lake Waylungup border the western edge of Baldivis and are surrounded by a natural reserve, with walking trails, picnic facilities and children’s playgrounds. The Rockingham Golf Club is also situated within bushland nearby where you can enjoy a round on its 18-hole course and spot its resident kangaroos.

If you’re travelling with kids, don’t miss a visit to the Baldivis Children's Forest that is set across 19 hectares of Tuart woodlands. It hosts a range of workshops and activities to help young ones connect with nature, including sensory walks and craft making.
