Things to do in Balanga
Right in the heart of Balanga town centre sits Saint Joseph Cathedral. Having survived WWII the cathedral is now a celebrated and active place of worship bursting with community spirit. Inside, you’ll find carvings and statues dotted around the walls.
History buffs and culture vultures alike will enjoy a visit to the Bataan World War II Museum, located 15 minutes west of Balanga. Take a guided tour with a war survivor to hear first-hand recounts of World War II and learn about how the country surrendered to the Japanese.
Balanga Nature and Wetland Park is an outdoor paradise 25 minutes west of Balanga. Hangout in the gazebos, take a mangrove trail walk or enjoy a picnic on the grass. Afterwards, head to the viewing decks on the banks of the Talisay River for bird watching.
For an outdoor adventure, head to Bataan National Park, located just over one hour’s drive west of Balanga. This protected mountainous area is home to tropical jungle, cascading waterfalls and an array of tropical flora and fauna. Keep your eyes peeled for the wild monkeys hopping from tree to tree.

Ninoy Aquino International Airport is located under three hours west of Balanga, while Subic Bay International Airport is one hour away. Once in Balanga, you can explore on foot or make use of buses or taxis.
