I thought it was outstanding. Extremely clean, thoughtful decor, attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, comfortable bed, spacious and well maintained bathroom.
No refrigerator in room. Ice had to be acquired from another building.
Beautiful setting and very close, walking distance to shops & restaurants. The GARDEN ROOM was well appointed and relaxing. Loved it.

Fabulous historic estate very close to town square. Fabulous breakfast, served on the patio by pleasant folk. What could be better?
We loved the room and clawfoot tub. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The bar staying open until 10 pm was also very nice, as I had an obligation until about 9 pm.
A small fridge in the room would have been helpful. Also, in the early morning hours there was quite a bit of noise under our room. I think we may have been above the kitchen/breakfast area, but it sounded like some furniture was being moved around. For how early it was, this was a bit disruptive.
Beautifully decorated rooms and common spaces, fabulous restaurant (one of best Inn breakfasts ever) and lovely staff, plus so many thoughtful small touches such as fresh cookies, herbal tea and fruit available on landing. Short walk to downtown Middlebury. Loved the fabulous artwork and beautiful setting. Very comfortable bed. Very nice bar area and sauna.
Room was a little hot, couldn't get TV to work. Would be nice to have a more causal space to "hang out"; lobby area in guest house was a little small for private phone call.
Perfect location for walking to downtown and Middlebury University and exploring the area. Wonderful breakfast with very friendly staff.
