We loved our stay here. Everything was perfect. And the food was probably the best value for money we had in all of our 30 day trip in Costa Rica. Had really nice meals with wine at a reasonable price. Walked the trails looking for birds, comfy room, nothing negative to say at all. We booked last minute and paid a very reasonable rate for our stay.

Quiet location of room and on-site trails. Food in restaurant was good and nice bar with fire pit. Birdwatching fir hummingbirds in hotel gardens was a plus.
Restaurant was soulless and full of your groups.

The very cold bathroom, it was probably 17 degrees in this room but it is a small detail compared to the really stay we had
We had a really nice stay. All staff were nice and very accommodating with our requests. You can tell that they are making an effort on keeping the hotel up to date, and that is nice to see.
The room was quite cold despite the AC-heating. Nothing that can be quickly fixed, though :)
We loved the ambiance with the gardens and all the hummingbirds. It was nice to be somewhere where taking care of the environment was a top priority. Unfortunately the weather was bad every afternoon or we would have been able to explore the property more and been able to spend more time looking for birds. Our room was nice, but cold. Maybe our heater was not working. I reported it to the desk and the second night the heat was much better. The breakfast was very good, but we felt the dinner was mediocre, except for the trout main course and the salad. The chicken special was not good. This was a family trip. The rooms were cozy and well equipped. Extra blankets and heating is provided. The rooms are comfortable and surrounded by nature. It creates a great experience and you have the river sound. If you are not used to that sound it is really relaxing. The hotel has a green house where you can buy and see plants. They are lovely. Stunning landscape, beautiful gardens, great cloud forrest trails, true sustainable operation and very polite staff.
Only two things which prevented ua from a 9 or 10 rating. 1. The constant push to "reserve" specific times for breakfest, or dinner is annoying and stressful when travelling with small children and was completely unnecessary given 80% of the tables were always empty when we showed up on time . 2. - Little paradise nestled in a gorgeous valley. We almost wish to stay longer - The resort has it all: a restaurant, a spa, some hiking trails, tours,a garden filled with hummingbirds - The food at the restaurant is good, a lot of fresh and local options for carnivores and vegetarians
- We booked a superior category of cabin and although it's cute and quaint, we were a bit disappointed. The cabins don't match the actual standards and would need some refurbishment.
This hotel is located within a reserve with hiking trails and gardens where you can see hummingbirds and many other species. The guided hikes were also excellent. The rooms were comfortable. The restaurant was good and reasonably priced.
