Admire the stunning facade and immense bell tower of the Lucca Cathedral and explore the landscaped gardens of the Orto Botanico Communale before enjoying the sweeping city views from the Torre delle Ore. You can watch the world go by from one of the alfresco cafes that surround Piazza Dell Anfiteatro.
Visit Villa Puccini. On the banks of Lago di Massaciuccoli is this elegant villa where the famous Italian composer once lived. It houses a museum dedicated to Giacomo Puccini's life and work, with its rooms restored to their early-20th-century appearance. Adjacent to the villa is the Simonetti Puccini Auditorium, which regularly hosts concerts and operatic events.
Explore the Antro del Corchia Levigliani. Famed for its impressive stalactites and lava formations, this extensive cave system lies hidden beneath the peaks of the Apuan Alps. Around two kilometres of trails are accessible to visitors on guided tours, with lights highlighting the underground features. Don’t miss the “White Eagle with Spread Wings” and the graffiti left by a Florentine speleological group who were among the first to explore this subterranean world.
