Stretching across the northern corner of Pennsylvania with views of Delaware River and Lake Wallenpaupack, the Pocono Mountains are a destination for all four seasons with snow-covered peaks and wooded trails for skiing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The alpine region is home to three state parks and dotted with charming mountain towns, including the historic village of Jim Thorpe.
Hikers will love the kilometers of trails in Lehigh Gorge State Park, including the 42-kilometer Lehigh Gorge Trail, which follows the dramatic canyon through dense pine trees. If you’re after a real challenge with a handsome reward, attempt the steep and rocky five-kilometer climb on the Glen Onoko Falls Trail.
For family fun, head to Camelback Mountain, the highest peak of the Poconos with some of the best skiing, snowboarding and tubing terrain in Pennsylvania. Experience stunning mountain scenery on the Appalachian Express Mountain Coaster or get a thrill flying over the forests on the Camelback Zipline.
