The Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park is a pristine stretch of coastline spanning from Porto Covo in the Alentejo to Burgau in the Algarve, offering an impressive preservation of natural wonder and beauty to tourists and outdoor enthusiasts.
The area encompasses nearly 200 kilometres of cliff lines and beaches, where you can photograph many unique species of animal and plant life found nowhere else in the world. Some of the rarest animals include fishing eagles, the white stork and the sea otter, while the Biscutella vicentina and Plantago almogravensis are among the diverse local plant life.

Getting around Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park
Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Natural Park is most easily accessible by car, as the area is vast and often remote. Routing out of Lagos, take N125 towards Vila do Bispo and into the park. The beaches and cliff lines are best explored on foot, but the terrain is often rocky and uneven, so be sure to pack proper footwear.
