A really pleasant upmarket boutique hotel in a well located historical building which has been very sensitively and tastefully renovated. The rooms are well appointed and the staff are friendly and engaging. There were however a few points that detracted from what would otherwise have been a perfect stay. The bathroom was a little disappointing in that the basin and counter top had not been properly wiped down. The shower drain was broken and the loose top cover caused it to block and flood the bathroom floor. There was also no hair conditioner available which again would have been expected in a venue of this calibre. The room has a pod coffee maker, however there were no pods in the room, only instant coffee sachets that I would not expect to find in an establishment like this. We asked for pods for the next morning and while the night manager who received us indicated that he would be there until around midnight, when we arrived back at the hotel before 11 there was no sign of him with the result that the promised coffee pods were not available. Breakfast was very good and while the points above detractd from an otherwise good experience we will be back.
