Beautiful old hotel with lots of history. Gorgeous shared spaces in the hotel, especially up in the bar area. Great location for walking to almost anything downtown. Rooms was what I was disappointed in. I've stayed in much nicer rooms for a lot less money. Bed was not comfortable and neither I or husband slept well at all. It's near the train, so there is noise from that. Didn't bother me since I had ear plugs, but the couple we traveled with said it was uncomfortably loud for them. Bathroom was remodeled, but still old. There was mold in the shower. I found a long black hair in the shower when I tried to relax in a bath. My hair is red. It's $54 a night just to park in the ramp. They charge you an extra $25 for an Urban destination fee per night, plus other taxes/fees. It added an extra $180 to our hotel stay in hotel on top of the $600 it already cost for two nights. My husband and I got 1 drink each from the bar one evening, cost us $38 before tip. Nothing super fancy, glass of wine and a beer. The grab and go express was disgusting. We were in a hurry and walked through there for coffee and a quick breakfast. I threw everything away and ended up at Starbucks. (Was inside hotel, but I had to wait in line 30 minutes because it was so busy.) Overall, it was pretty, but you must have to spend a lot more money that we did to have a nice room. I would never stay here again.
