The only thing this place has going for it is the location and ocean view… which is spectacular… oh and the complimentary bottled water. Arriving back at our room at 11pm, we discovered we had no running cold water but plenty of scalding hot water. Oddly opposite to water issues experienced in the past. Reception was closed and the after hours number rang out. In the morning we had to wait until 0900am before reception opened and we reported the issue. after multiple attempts, I convinced reception to let me try another room to shower. It worked but water pressure was terrible as others showered in the adjacent rooms The room had some rice grains in bedside drawers, blue toilet cleaner stained bowls and what appeared to be a noodle stuck in the rusty drain. It was cleaned but not well. Staff were friendly on arrival but clearly under trained for a customer facing hospitality role. Birds were nesting in the roof which kept my wife awake from 0530am. We didn’t use the bar or bistro so can’t make any comments about it. The bar was closed after returning from a tour at port Arthur at about 2245. Be wary that this is country Tasmania so there are no shops open outside of daylight hours. If you need supplies, snacks etc, bring them with.
