We arrived very late and discovered a smoker may have used our non smoking room. The next morning Katrina the best guest manager we've ever met, upgraded us to the top floor with the river view we'd requested. The weather had turned very cold and our jackets were way too light. BRRRR! Our second day we were to tour the Terra cotta warriors, she greeted us with two down filled parkas of her own. We would have turned into popsicles without them. The front desk staff noticed from my passport that it was my birthday. A quartet singing Happy Birthday delivered a candle lite cake and handmade card. I've turned 71 and this was my first surprise birthday party! All the staff were remarkable, from the doorman to every attendant and server. Every one of our needs were either met our better yet anticipated. Their friendliness and generosity filled our hearts and warmed our souls. The general manager greeted us and wished me Happy birthday! The dining patrons next to us toasted my celebration! I could go on... it was fantastic!
