If you've never been to Japan and Tokyo, here's the first tip...nothing is 'too far'. An exemplary transport network means everything is within 5-10 train stops. So you're not obligated to pay hundreds of dollars to stay in the popular areas of Tokyo. This hotel had a basic and yet more than sufficient continental breakfast on offer which is a good way to start each day. Facilities are brand new and top shelf. The staff are lovely and speak adequate English, which is more than what can be said about the rest of the country. A peaceful area meant a good night's sleep also. Location wise it was a 10min walk from the shrine of the 47 Ronin, 200m from a train station that is 6 stops from Tokyo or Shibuya, another 2 from Shinjuku and not much more from Akihabara. I travelled with my 14yr old son and I was delighted with my blind selection of this hotel. It would definitely be my initial consideration for my next stay in Tokyo unless I required a specific location for another reason.
