Was good. Location is on Lio beach which has numerous western style (and with filo cuisine) restaurants around, so it's a 5 min walk to get lunch or dinner. The beach is also quite nice (except the sand flies can be annoying). The actual hotel cleanliess is clean and new, unlike most other hotels in El Nido which are quite old styled. El Nido is very raw and most hotels are like that, small, raw and in my personal opinion, not for me. Take your pick for experience. I wanted a clean and newly furbished hotel/resort which is why we chose Casa Kalaw. Service is good and employees are always helpful and friendly. There is a free shuttle into town (20mins away). Not so great points, lots of fruit flies fly over your head whilst lying by the pool, not their fault as your really in middle of the tropical jungle so its what you can expect. Also refrigerator is quite noisy, and at night hearing random thuds from it - first night gave us a bit of scare until we found out it was the fridge. Overall though, it's a good hotel compared to all the others available and for it's price.
