The staff at Auldington were great - super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I can't say much else was great. The location isn't great. Its around 1.2 km from centre which I didn't think initially would be too bad as I am fit and don't mind a walk but considering the harsh sun it was too far. Despite using sunscreen we were still quite sunburnt. The room itself was quite dark and had a basement feel which I didn't enjoy. We had thought it was already dark outside to find it wasn't. The bed and pillows were incredibly uncomfortable and both my husband and myself woke from a restless sleep and sore backs and necks. Then had to deal with a shower with non existent pressure. The dining experience in Launceston was also dismal although this is obviously no fault of the hotel. The recommended place for breakfast was very busy so we expected good things. Disappointing. Ordered a smoothie bowl with no smoothie component!! just horrible tasting plain yoghurt and a non generous sprinkling of fruit that tasted as though it was off. Wouldn't return.
