With sugar-white beaches, aquamarine water and kaleidoscopic coral reefs, nowhere showcases the beauty of Australia quite like the Whitsunday Islands. Set off the coast of Queensland, the archipelago is made up of more than 70 islands and boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the country.
Whether you want to sip cocktails by the pool or scuba dive with tropical fish, the Whitsunday Islands are a paradise for sunseekers. Whitehaven Beach is one of the most photogenic spots, featuring gleaming white sand, crystalline water and fantastic snorkelling. For a bird’s eye view, take to the skies on a scenic flight.
The Whitsundays may be famous for luxury resorts but there are also plenty of opportunities for off-the-beaten-track adventures. Bushwalkers can explore an array of trails, including Passage Peak that offers panoramic views over the archipelago. Renting a yacht and setting sail on a bareboat adventure is another signature Whitsundays experience.
