The Ibis Room is located in the main house of the Crane Creek Inn. Guests staying in this room have a private outdoor entrance, a private bedroom, a private bathroom, and an open-air porch/dining area. Ibis room guests also have access to a shared living area, dining area, and a full kitchen in the Inn, along with access to a continental breakfast. The heated pool and all outdoor areas of the property are shared with other guests. THE SPACE Location, location, location! Welcome to the Crane Creek Inn. Built in 1925, the historic property is situated directly on beautiful Crane Creek, just one block away from everything Downtown Melbourne has to offer. The Ibis room is a truly luxurious and romantic room with a French theme and soothing colors, artwork, and linens. Enjoy your own whirlpool tub with a separate shower enclosure, Cherry wood Queen bed, and hardwood floors. French doors open to a personal covered deck with a dining table, comfortable chairs and a ceiling fan. A basic *continental* breakfast will be provided to guests staying in the Heron, Ibis, and Osprey rooms only. You are welcome to help yourself to the food and drinks in the kitchen 24/7, and even fresh eggs from our chickens! Please keep personal food/drinks in the refrigerator in your room. Being located in the same house as other rooms, we expect our guests to be quiet and respectful of each other at all times, keeping the noise level to a minimum. If you are looking for a place to party, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. If you are looking for a relaxing retreat that feels secluded but is actually only steps from the heart of Downtown Melbourne, you've come to the right place! SHARED AREAS The Heron, Ibis, and Osprey rooms each have their own private bedroom and bathroom, but the rest of the first floor of the main house is SHARED by the guests staying in these three rooms along with the Inn's owners and housekeeping team. You are welcome to use these shared areas, but please leave them as you found them and always clean up after yourself. With the exception of the porches/patios located directly outside the entrance to each suite, all of the outdoor areas of the property are shared by all guests and the owners. Please be respectful of other guests at all times. CAMERAS We have several video cameras that record motion on the property for the safety and security of both our guests and the property itself. None are actively monitored (we have neither the time nor desire to), but we have the ability to review video recordings if necessary due to damage, theft, injury, etc. No cameras are hidden, and none are capable of recording inside any guest rooms or private areas. Cameras are located outdoors on the front porch, the pool area, the side walkway, and the back yard. There are also three cameras in the shared common areas of the main house: in the kitchen, the living room, and at the top of the stairs. BED AND BREAKFAST? Please Note: We offer a continental breakfast to our guests staying in the main house (the Heron, Ibis, and Osprey rooms) only. No hot breakfast is served, but there are plenty of great breakfast options within walking distance in Downtown Melbourne. TV Hulu + Live TV (for more than 65 live TV channels including local networks) is provided and will give you access to thousands of free movies and shows. You are also welcome to log in to any streaming services that you subscribe to (Netflix, Disney+, YouTubeTV and so on). FLATTOP GRILL The large flattop grill located on the pool deck is available for all guests to use. Please note that housekeeping does not maintain this, so we ask that you please clean it and the grill utensils for the next guest after each use. HEATED POOL Our gas pool heater is set to keep the pool at or above a comfortable-but-still-refreshing 80 degrees all year round. THE TRAIN In case you miss it in the "Potential for Noise" section, we want to disclose again that there is an active train track about 500 feet to our east. Many guests enjoy watching the train cross the trestle that spans Crane Creek from our back yard, but be aware that the train does sound its horn repeatedly as it passes through Downtown Melbourne. The majority of our guests have no issues with this, but approximately 10% of those we have asked have reported being awakened when it passes by overnight. We provide white noise machines in all of our rooms that will drown out this sound, but if you are a light sleeper and prefer to sleep in complete silence (no white noise), our Inn - and most places in Downtown Melbourne, for that matter - may not be the property for you. THE NEIGHBORHOOD Our Inn is located in a quaint neighborhood. There are multiple eateries, breweries, bars, and shops all within walking distance. There are boat, kayak, and stand up paddle board rentals within a block of us, as well as the Crane Creek Promenade. ATTRACTIONS: -Downtown Melbourne (restaurants, bars, shopping) is located one block to the north of us -Florida Institute of Technology: 2 miles -The ocean/public beach: 2.5 miles -Brevard Zoo: 14 miles -Space Coast Stadium: 18 miles -Kennedy Space Center: 37 miles -Disney World: 67 miles Airports: -Melbourne International Airport (MLB): 2 miles -Orlando International Airport (MCO): 60 miles Hospital/Emergency Room: Holmes Regional Hospital is just over 1 mile away Parking/Local Transportation 1 on-site parking space is included with your stay. There is additional free parking across the street around Manatee Park. Uber/Lyft are readily available in Melbourne if you don't have your own transportation, but many of our guests never feel the need to wander beyond walking distance during their stay, since our property and Downtown Melbourne have so much to offer. CHILDREN This property is not suitable for young children. PRICING A note about pricing: You may notice that the daily rate fluctuates as you browse through our availability calendar. This is because we use a third-party software that automatically adjusts our listings' prices to ensure they remain competitive and stay BELOW the market rate for comparable properties in the area. Daily prices change due to season, hotel occupancy rates, last minute availability, and so on - basically supply and demand. It's a very nifty tool that ensures our prices are fair and leads to us having close to 100% occupancy all year long. CANCELLATION POLICY/TRAVEL INSURANCE Please take note of the cancellation policy posted on our website and message us with any questions prior to booking. We are running a small business and are not able to make exceptions to this policy to provide refunds beyond the Cleaning Fee if you are unable to stay with us and need to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival date for any reason, including any weather-related events, like hurricanes or red tide. It is also our policy to not accept any reservation change requests made within 30 days of your arrival date that involve moving your reservation dates into the future. We strongly recommended that you obtain Travel Insurance for your trip, in case of any unforeseen circumstances that could lead to you cancelling your reservation. A simple online search for "travel insurance" will provide you with many options. PESTS We have regular preventative pest control services at all of our properties and very rarely see any bugs because of this, but this is Florida, and the occasional pest (or cute gecko/anole) could find its way inside. In the unlikely event that you do see a bug, we would be happy to send pest control to retreat the property (this is part of the service we pay for), but you will not be eligible for any type of refund because of this.
