When you’ve had your fill of sun and sand, head inland to explore scenic woodland trails in Cattus Island County Park. Kids love picnicking on the grass and getting up close with rainbow-coloured insects in the Butterfly Garden.
From June to October, the Toms River Farmers Market is brimming with locally grown produce from across New Jersey and New York State. You’ll also find artisan candy, freshly baked bread, homemade preserves and other treats.

Getting around Toms River
Rental cars are a quick and easy way to get around Toms River, with a causeway linking the Toms Beach town centre with nearby neighbourhoods such as Ortley Beach and Seaside Heights. Jersey Shore is also well-serviced by local buses. John F. Kennedy International Airport is a two-hour drive north and Philadelphia International Airport is 1.5 hours west.
