Things to do in Tanjung Kling
Klebang Beach is just east of Tanjong Kling and attracts holidaymakers from Malacca. Stroll along the beach and enjoy a picnic under the shade of pine trees, rent an ATV and zoom along the sand or saddle up for a horseback ride along the beach. Colourful souvenir stalls sell t-shirts and trinkets.
Pantai Kundor Beach is laid-back and family-friendly. Lay down your towel under a leafy casuarina tree and enjoy a day at the beach. Pantai Puteri Beach is further up the coast and has a similar vibe, with soft sand and lots of shade.
Food stalls dot the beaches around Tanjong Kling and will tempt you with Malaysian classics like “ayam pongteh” meat cooked in a sticky soy sauce, “satay celup” seafood skewers and chicken rice balls. Waterfront seafood restaurants serve mouth-watering mackerel, Asian seabass and squid with beautiful views over the Malacca Strait.
Pay your respects to one of the greatest Malacca warriors in history at the Hang Tuah Mausoleum. It’s the final resting place of Hang Tuah, a 15th-century warrior who served three sultans. Walk around the tree-shaded site and learn more about the legacy of Hang Tuah.
Getting around Tanjung Kling
Taxis are a fast and affordable way to get around Tanjong Kling. Brightly painted rickshaws are another option. Tanjong Kling is a 25-minute drive from Malacca and 30 minutes from Malacca International Airport.
