Sporting magnificent modern architecture and top-tier dining, entertainment, pool and spa options, ARIA stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of the Strip. The vibe: Modern, gleaming and chic. Luxury on all levels What we love: ARIA Las Vegas opened at the end of 2009 and it still has that new car smell. The rooms are a tech lover's dream, featuring the latest gadgetry (keyless locks, personalized automation, etc.). Each room includes an in-room tablet where you'll have one-touch control of lighting, temperature, draperies, music, in-room dining and more. Simply put, you're the master of your domain at ARIA Las Vegas. Open year-round, the pool area at ARIA is like something out of the Garden of Eden. Three ellipse-shaped pools are spread across a palm tree-laden deck. Insider tips: Be an art lover. ARIA's got an impressive fine art collection, and you don't have to pay a museum admission cost to view it. Several pieces dot the property's indoor and outdoor public spaces. So spend the day exploring, it's totally worth it. Spend an afternoon at ARIA's Spa & Salon. There are some seriously unique amenities in here including a Shio salt room (its salt-infused air improves both your breathing and skin) and Ganbanyoku heated stone beds, which are unbelievably soothing to your muscles. Good to know: There isn't a bad room in the house. Since the price point is elevated here, why not just go all out and upgrade to one of the Sky Suites? With the one-bedroom penthouse, not only will you get postcard-worthy views and more flat-screen TVs than you'd find in an electronics store, but you'll enjoy extras like limousine transport from the airport, a personal concierge and access to the private Sky Suites Lounge, where you can indulge in drinks (yes, this includes alcohol) and snacks all day and night long. If you're thinking of smoking in your room at ARIA, don't. At checkout, you might find you've been hit with a $500-$1000 smoking restoration fee. Be aware that most of the resort's rooms (98 percent of them, only a few high roller suites have been exempted) are nonsmoking, so the only places you'll be able to light up are on the casino floor or in various bars. Parking at ARIA seems more confusing than it really is. The only way to access this garage is by turning off the Strip onto Aria Place. Follow the signs (there is no light) as these will indicate where the left turnoff is to a long ramp that goes down into the garage. This feels trickier than it is because you don't actually see the garage they guide you towards.  We also just want to add that ARIA is set way back from the Strip. Of course, most Vegas Strip resorts involve a walk to reach Las Vegas Boulevard, but this is one of the longer ones. To get to the Strip, you'll have to go through The Shops at Crystals or walk along a series of shops parallel to City Center Place and take a pedestrian bridge across to The Shops at Crystals. Think of it as your workout to burn off those buffet calories.

2000 Fashion Show Drive, Las Vegas, NV, United States
Across from the Fashion Show mall and steps from the Strip, the 64-story Trump International Hotel Las Vegas towers above all nearby buildings with a golden facade reflecting the brand of the Donald J. Trump hotel collection. The vibe: Impeccable style, lifestyles of the well-to-do, service that goes above and beyond What we love: Love him or hate him, you can trust that any resort owned and operated by real estate mogul Donald Trump knows how to deliver the good life. That's certainly the case at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas. If you want to be treated like a millionaire.or rather a billionaire.then stay here. Unlike most of Sin City's hotels, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas doesn't have a casino (something that goes over well with families) and it doesn't allow smoking (which goes over well with those of us who hate inhaling other people's cigarette smoke). The staff is awesome. Really they are. And what's more, the concierge-like Trump Attaché team (doesn't that name sound like it belongs to some sort of super secret intelligence agency?) can pretty much make whatever Vegas dream you have - within reason, of course - come true. The rooms at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas are incredible. Not only are they spacious (starting at 515 square feet), but the beds are unbelievably comfy and the bathrooms come with jetted spa tubs. Plus, there are kitchen appliances by Wolf, Bosch and Sub-Zero (nicer brands than you have at home). Insider tips: Trump International Hotel Las Vegas doesn't have a self-parking garage. You have to valet park. That service is free, but a gratuity is expected.  Kids and small dogs are more than welcome here. As part of the Trump Kids program, children get kiddie cocktails, coloring books and other surprises during their stays. And the Trump Pets program gives four-legged guests gourmet treats, bowls with bottled water and plush pet beds. In the resort's gift store, you can also purchase Trump-monogrammed pet accessories including robes, blankets and slippers. The elevated pool deck features ahh-mazing views of the city and a fabulous setting for soaking up the sun. The only thing that can make it better: A drink. We recommend ordering one of the signature cocktails from the poolside café H2(EAU). If pampering yourself is on your vacation must-do checklist, The Spa at Trump has you covered. It offers everything from gemstone treatments and royal body therapies to hangover cures (like the Vegas Recovery Massage and the Morning After Eye Care). Good to know: Trump International Hotel Las Vegas is situated about a block from train tracks. If you're someone who's bothered by train noises (because they do occasionally roll through), you may want to request a room on a higher floor. The resort also sits back about a quarter of a mile from the Strip, so you'll need to do some walking to get to other major properties and shopping. The restaurant choices at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas are pretty much limited to DJT (take a guess at whose initials those are). But the uneven quality of food and service here doesn't seem to be on par with the high-end presentation of the rest of the property.

About Nevada

A state of fierce contrasts, Nevada loves to don its ski gear just as much as its sequins. It’s a fascinating paradox that sees it attract an eclectic mix of high rolling gamblers, rowdy bachelor parties, diehard ski bunnies, outdoor adventurers and nature buffs alike. So much more than just a casino state, Nevada never fails to enchant those that take the time to dig a little deeper.

By far, Nevada’s biggest claim to fame is Las Vegas. Sin City may cover a pint-sized 352 km² footprint, but it’s dazzling lights, blazing casinos and ultra-luxe hotels attract more than 40 million people a year. That said, gambling isn’t Nevada’s only talent. Beyond Las Vegas, Nevada is defined by its sprawling deserts. It’s America’s driest state, yet for those heading to cities like Reno and Tahoe, the towering snowy mountains, stunning cobalt lakes and wild forests feel world’s away from the sparkle of Las Vegas.

The best way to soak up everything Nevada has to offer is by car. Interstate Highways zig zag their way through the state, with charter bus companies like Greyhound also offering routes between the major cities. For those arriving by plane, McCarran International in Las Vegas is Nevada’s biggest air traffic hub.

While most people associate the state with pool parties and penthouses, the name is actually drawn from the Spanish word Nevada which means “snow-covered” in English. It’s a fitting name, given the fact that Nevada is the USA’s most mountainous state. In fact, it’s home to more than 150 individual mountain ranges, including Sierra Nevada, Santa Rosa, Battle, Monitor, Toiyabe and Schell Creek. For some, this makes Nevada an adventure seeker’s nirvana.
