Located on the route that connects San Francisco with Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park is a planned city named after an early farming family. In addition to being on the doorstep of Sonoma State University, it’s home to several shopping malls and family-friendly attractions that include a fishing lake.
Things to do in Rohnert Park
Sprawling across the north of Rohnert Park is Roberts Lake Park, which is a popular fishing destination due to its stocks of rainbow trout, channel catfish and largemouth bass. Named after a long-serving mayor, its attractions include a network of walking trails and a dog park. If you’re travelling with young anglers, coincide your visit with the Rohnert Park Fishing Derby.
Kids will also love the Scandia Family Fun Center, which is home to a go-kart track, arcade games and two award-winning miniature golf courses. You can squirt your family and friends on the Blaster Boats, test your hitting skills in the Batting Cages or experience the drop of the Vertical Boom. Hot dogs, pizzas and refreshing iced drinks are available at the Viking Pizza restaurant.
Need a retail fix? Head to Raley's Towne Centre for footwear, accessories and beauty goods. The adjacent Plaza Park Center is home to a jewellery store and thrift shop, together with several fast food eateries and restaurants. All of the latest Hollywood blockbusters are screened at the Reading Cinemas, which is located alongside the Rebounderz Indoor Trampoline Park.
