Stretching along the south-west coast of Langkawi, Pantai Cenang is a palm-fringed beach that’s one of the busiest on the island. It’s backed by a strip of restaurants and souvenir shops, as well as family-friendly attractions that include Underwater World Langkawi and the Rice Garden Museum.
Settle in for a day on the sands of Pantai Cenang, with the beach’s sheltered waters ideal for swimming. If you’re feeling more adventurous, there are a variety of water sports on offer, including jet skiing and parasailing. Drinks and meals are available at the Yellow Beach Cafe and the Thirstday Bar and Restaurant, with several seafood restaurants also lining the sand.
At the southern end of Pantai Cenang is Underwater World Langkawi, an aquarium home to more than 200 marine species from across the globe. Explore the Tropical Rainforest, Temperate and Sub-Antarctic exhibits before learning about prehistoric fish in the 3D theatre. At the other end of the beach is Laman Padi Langkawi (also known as the Rice Garden Museum), which explores the history of rice cultivation on Langkawi.
