With tree-lined streets, scenic nature trails and fantastic recreational facilities, Orland Park feels worlds away from the skyscrapers and city lights of Downtown Chicago. The residential neighbourhood is popular with young families and offers shopping malls, sidewalk cafes and a laid-back atmosphere.
Kids love Centennial Park Aquatic Centre, which features a public pool, water slides and children's play area. Lake Sedgewick is a great place to explore hiking paths, boardwalks and nature trails. In summer you can rent pedal boats and kayaks, while winter sees the lake transform into an outdoor ice rink.
History buffs shouldn't miss John Humphrey House, a handsome Georgian residence listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On the main shopping strip you'll find plenty of places to enjoy a coffee or sit down for lunch.
