Set on the picturesque Berriedale peninsula within the renowned Moorilla Winery, MONA is a unique art museum showcasing a wealth of ancient and contemporary artwork. The museum’s central theme revolves around sex and death, while its annual music and arts festivals showcase incredible public artwork and live performances.
The general collection at MONA features almost 2,000 works, including innovative sculptures and evocative drawings. You can also time your visit for some of MONA’s creative temporary exhibitions, with previous displays including the human-inspired The Unmanned and The Inward Eye – A Psychoacoustic Journey. Getting there
MONA is about 12 kilometres from the centre of Hobart, which takes about 15 minutes in a car or 40 minutes via bus. Hobart is serviced by Hobart International Airport, which has regular domestic and some international flights.
