A Sydney icon, Luna Park has been serving up thrills, spills and screams since 1935. The colourful amusement park boasts spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and is packed full of exciting rides and attractions for the whole family. From the heart racing Wild Mouse rollercoaster to the vintage Devil’s Drop slide, there’s entertainment for all ages.
Beyond family friendly entertainment, Luna Park Sydney also plays an important role in the city’s social and cultural scenes. It houses a handful of unique theatres, function areas and halls, including the magnificent Crystal Palace. Today, it’s used for everything from eclectic wedding receptions to private social events.
Luna Park Sydney is perched on Milsons Point, at the northern end of Sydney Harbour Bridge. From the CBD, the scenic walk over the iconic bridge takes just 20 minutes. Trains run to Milsons Point Station, with the journey from Town Hall taking around 15 minutes. For those wanting to soak up the scenery, ferries run from Circular Quay to Milsons Point Wharf. Entrance to the park itself is via the beaming moon face façade, which welcomes guests with its trademark grin.
For a splash of Sydney nostalgia, a visit to Luna Park is a must. Some of its original rides are still running to this day, with the vintage Ferris Wheel spinning for more than 80 years. There’s a heavy focus on celebrating the park’s history, which is now listed on the State Heritage Register.
