Located just east of Knoxville, Kodak is a neighbourhood of Sevierville and the setting for the 1785 signing of the Treaty of Dumplin Creek. It was named after the Kodak brand of camera, which was recently released when the community was founded in 1892.
Coincide your visit with a baseball match at Smokies Stadium, which is home to the Tennessee Smokies in the Minor League. Kids will love “Homer’s Playland” (named after the team mascot, Homer the Hound), where you’ll find two bouncy castles, an obstacle course and a prize wheel.
A short drive west of Kodak is Seven Islands State Birding Park, which hugs a hairpin bend in the French Broad River. Its grasslands provide habitat for more than 180 species of birds, including yellow-breasted chats, summer tanagers and indigo buntings. In addition to birdwatching along its designated hiking trails, you can kayak, canoe and fish in the river.
