Kaua’i is renowned for its unspoilt natural beauty and mesmerising scenic wonders. The stunning island provides countless outdoor experiences for you to reconnect with nature, recharge and revive your body, mind and spirit.
Things to do in Kaua'i
One of the most spectacular landscapes in Kauai is the Na Pali Coast, which was featured in the film “Jurassic Park”. The Napali Coast is only accessible by air and sea (unless you’re an extremely experienced hiker). This 24-kilometre stretch of coast on the north-west flank of Kaua’i remains unspoilt and unforgettable.
At 22.5 kilometres long, Waimea Canyon is a geological wonder where colourful panoramic vistas of deep valley gorges are reminiscent of a prehistoric world. There are numerous hiking and biking trails through the canyon and up into Kokee State Park, where you’ll find views of the island of Niihau.
Head south to the tiny settlement of Hanapepe. Pick up local crafts and hand-painted tiles in one of the many galleries and wander along the swinging footbridge that spans the Hanapepe River.
Getting there
Lihue Airport is the main gateway to Kaua’i, while public buses connect to nearby towns. Renting your own vehicle is the most convenient means of getting around Kaua’i.
