A beautiful oceanfront town boasting an array of cultural attractions, Hua Hin is one of Thailand’s most family-friendly destinations. Alluring metropolitan vibes are highlighted by delicious street food, thriving markets and impressive temples.
Things to do in Hua Hin
For a dose of culture, head to the Huay Mongkol Temple and check out the massive Buddha statue perched above the flight of stairs. Admire the range of small statues on display, from an ornate elephant to a general on horseback.
Want to travel back in time? Visit Phra Ratchaniwet Mrigadayavan, the famous summer palace of Rama VI. Stroll the sprawling grounds lined with majestic trees and soak up the beautiful ocean views. Take your time exploring the unique complex of interlinked tweak houses joined by a covered boardwalk.
For a day of fun in the sun, travel down to Hua Hin Beach. Park yourself in a beach chair for the day, swim through the gentle waters or go on a pony ride along the shoreline. There are plenty of bars and cafes for eating and drinking when you need a break from the sun.
Hutsadin Elephant Foundation offers you the chance to have an elephant encounter of a lifetime, where you can go on elephant walks and participate in feedings. The Foundation provides educational talks and the opportunity to wash one of their elephants.
Getting around Hua Hin
Hua Hin Railway Station is located in the centre of town, providing easy access in and out of the city. The most convenient way of getting around is by songthaew or taxi, but the central area is easily explored on foot.
