Sprawling around the banks of the Missouri River, Great Falls is a bustling city and the seat of Montana’s Cascade County. It is named after a series of five waterfalls that tumble along the river, forcing the Lewis and Clark Expedition to do a lengthy portage during their 1805-1806 expedition.
