The iconic Tsuglagkhang Complex is best known as the home of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. Dharamshala sits in the foothills of the Himalayas and is surrounded by lush cedar forests. A well-worn trail leads from the Shiva temple to Bhagsu Waterfall, which cascades into an emerald pool. Getting around Dharamshala
Dharamsala is small enough to get around on foot and is serviced by taxis and auto rickshaws. Dharamsala Airport is 15 kilometres away and offers regular flights to Delhi. Pathankot, 85 kilometres from Dharamsala, has the closest train station.
