Serving as the seat of Montgomery County, Christiansburg is an important regional hub in Virginia’s south. It was named after an early settler to the region, Colonel William Christian. For a short period, Christiansburg was home to the American folk hero, Davy Crockett, who apprenticed with a local newspaper printer.
