We landed in Newark around 10 pm, after clearing custom we went to the train station where all the hotel pick up people. It was late 00,30 a.m. All the guest of the other hotel (marriott, Hilton, Best western in town etc..)had frequent buses to pick them up, our shuttle didn't show up for 40 minutes, until I called the reception. The guy asked me if I was sure to be in the right place, I was. After 15 minutes the bus arrived: we were 9, waiting for more than an hour. When we arrived the hotel the guy at reception gave me a key and a room: 501. Went upstairs, the key didn't open. Came down again at the reception and the guy made another key, again for room 501. It didn't work. We tried several time, pushing the door, shaking the door handle until a man opened us: he was surprised/angry because he was sleeping. The room assigned was already occupied. This happened around 1,15 am. Came down again at the reception, the guy didn't believe me (he doesn't know he has a person in a room????), called room 501, the guest replied and may be the guy at the reception realized he can't do his job. Eventually he gave me room 517, around 2 a.m.. Awful service. Excellent breakfast and the shuttle driver that took us at the airport in the morning was kind and sharp.
